As one of the fastest-growing sub-groups within the investing landscape, Angel Investing is becoming one of the most common sources of external financing raised by a startup. From bridging the relationships between startups & VC, to connecting expertise and mobilising network capital, the active role that Angels take in nurturing the founder journey, cannot be understated. Join us for a lively discussion amongst a host of voices as we explore how they are showing up for their founders. This includes what formats they are using to mobilise capital, connections & knowledge and how they are nurturing the community to strengthen pre-investment DD and post-investment support.

According to the State of Australian Startup Funding 2021 report, just 17% of angel investors in Australia are female. Moreover, the existence of our Sophisticated Investor regulations has been commonly identified as a blocker to participation in Angel Investing. This comes paired with a double-edged reality that taking on the financial risk that comes with founding a startup, is often an opportunity only afforded to a lucky few. So, how do we change this reality? How can we ensure that we are continuing to open up pathways to investment and opportunity for all? This includes diving deep into our current sector participants, and how they (we) can come together to mobilise change. Join us for an discussion that we need to be thinking more deeply and regularly about.
