Associate Professor Susan Evans is a gynaecologist, pain physician, PhD, and lifetime believer in the abilities of women. Fostering equal opportunity for women takes many forms, and her life focus has been in the management of female predominant neuroimmune conditions such as pelvic pain, endometriosis, chronic fatigue and central pain sensitisation.
In collaboration with Professor Mark Hutchinson and Professor Paul Rolan she founded Alyra Biotech. All three are passionate about bringing true innovation to women’s wellbeing. Alyra Biotech is commercializing intrauterine neuroimmune modulation to treat a wide range of central neuroimmune symptoms.
A/Prof Evans is a Springboard Enterprise 2020 Life Science Alum and Member of Australia’s National Action Plan for Endometriosis Advisory Group. She is Chair of the Pelvic Pain Foundation of Australia, and co-developer of the Periods, Pain and Endometriosis (PPEPTalk) Schools Program.
